Srinagar

Inspector General of Police Traffic Basant Rath on Thursday directed all the SSPs concerned in the state of Jammu and Kashmir to launch a drive against the vehicles having installed the “illegal” pressure horns and get them dismantled forthwith.

“I have observed that most of the government vehicles (trucks, buses, and minibuses) of various organizations like police, army, CRPF, BSF, municipal corporations and etc have pressure horns installed on them. These devices are illegal and need to be dismantled,” reads a letter shot by the IGP Traffic to all the SSPs of the state.

The letter further reads: “I will keep an eye on your daily performance on this count.”

The IGP has remained in news for his action against the traffic violators. (GNS)
