The chargesheet in FIR No. 32/2026, registered under Sections 420 and 120-B of the IPC and Sections 10 and 24 of the Emigration Act, has been submitted before the Court of PT&E, Srinagar, for judicial determination.

The accused have been identified as Sajad Abdullah, son of Mohammad Abdullah Sheikh, a resident of Hamdaniya Colony, Bemina, and Jahangir Ahmad Tanky, son of Hafizullah Tanky, a resident of Sheshgari Mohalla, Khanyar.

According to the investigation, the case originated from complaints alleging that the duo, proprietors of M/s Al-Aqsa Global Services Pvt. Ltd., operating from Moomin-Abad, Lane-04, Batamaloo, had collected advance payments from several people after offering them employment opportunities abroad.

However, the promised jobs were not arranged, while cheques issued by the accused towards repayment were dishonoured due to insufficient funds, the investigation found.

Investigators established that the consultancy was registered as an excursion agent for tour and travel services and did not hold the mandatory registration to operate as an overseas recruitment agency.

The probe further revealed that payments amounting to lakhs of rupees had been deposited into the personal bank accounts of both accused on the pretext of arranging foreign employment, but the commitments were not fulfilled.

The EOW said Jahangir Ahmad Tanky could not be traced despite sustained efforts and had been absconding since 2025.

With the investigation establishing the allegations, the agency filed the chargesheet before the competent court for further legal proceedings.

SSP EOW Kashmir has advised job seekers to verify the credentials and authorisation of recruitment agencies before engaging their services and cautioned against making advance payments to unauthorised operators.
