MLA Langate and AIP President Er Rasheed on Tuesday reiterated that defending 35-A is a compulsion of people of the state and the ultimate goal is restoring peace in the entire sub-continent by resolving Kashmir dispute once for all.

The spokesman in a statement said that the way local police crossed the line and used force against its own people everywhere is condemnable and has no justification. Carrying out protest marches in defending Article 35-A does not need permission from the cops as it is a battle of every household including SP Vaid and every single cop. Cops need to understand that New Delhi is very keen in making Kashmiris to fight against each other, so that what happened in Punjab three decades before is repeated in J&K.

He said let local policemen understand that they are sons of the soil and everything that Kashmiris are seeking on the streets should be the first priority of men in uniform also. Rather remaining grateful to masses for raising their voice in support of 35-A.

Rasheed in a statement also condemned “torturing” of a school teacher Mushtaq Ahmad Mir inside army camp of 40RR  at Pulwama and brutal force used against Dr Mudasir Thakur and others inside a police station in Shopian. He also appealed DGP to look into the matter and punish those guilty.
