MLA Langate, Er. Rasheed arrested in Handwara on Friday after leading a protest march after Friday prayers against the recent civilian killings in Kashmir.
Sources close to MLA Langate told Kashmir Life that hundreds of people were marching towards the main chowk Handwara and when they reached near chowk, police and Paramilitary troops intercepted them and arrested Rasheed.
He added that scores of AIP activists are raising anti-army and anti-government, Stop civilian killings in Kashmir slogans.
While Talking to media persons before being arrested Rasheed appealed J&K police not to forget that they have to live and die with the society and should not act as collaborators for the army. He said “World community should take notice that who gets indulged in terrorism. There can be nothing shameless than the fact that those who were supposed to protect the life and property of innocents are after the blood of not only young men but not sparing the womenfolk.”
Rasheed accused Mehbooba Mufti of being a mute spectator and said that her condemnations over these killings have lost the relevance, for the reason that she being the Chief Minister of the state has to do things rather making hue and cry. He said, “Mehbooba Mufti’s condemnations de reveal that she has lost the control and nothing is in her hands”.
