Independent lawmaker Er Rasheed was re-arrested on Thursday evening after he confronted VHP’s National Vice President at Press Enclave, Srinagar.

According to initial reports, Er Rasheed, after walking out of Kothibagh police station headed straight to Press Enclave where the VHP man, along with his two supporters, was talking to some media persons.

As the two came face-to-face, Er Rasheed accused the VHP man of meddling in Kashmir. “You are killers of Kashmiris and there is no place for you here,” Er Rasheed told him.

For around half-an-hour Er Rasheed and his supporters “sealed the office” where VHP man was talking to press and shouted slogans against VHP and BJP. “You demolished Babri masjid. You have blood on your hands,” Er Rasheed shouted. “Kashmir is not an integral part of India and you have no role here.”

Later Er Rasheed was re-arrested and taken to the Kothibagh police station.
