MLA Langate Er Rasheed Wednesday submitted a bill seeking replacing of posts of governor and chief minister with “Sadr-e-Riyasat” and “Wazeer-e-Azam”, in the assembly secretariat.
In a statement issued here, Rasheed lashed out at National Conference and Peoples Democratic Party for not showing the “required response” to the historic High Court judgment over the issue. “Their poor response has exposed their claims about Autonomy and Self Rule.”
“NC seems to have given up its agenda and succumbed to New Delhi’s pressure after its Autonomy resolution was thrown to trash bin by then Union government and PDP has stopped talking about Self Rule which also seeks restoration of Sadr-e-Riyasat and Wazeer-e-Azam. The facts reveal that these parties used these slogans only to grab votes but later forgot everything. Now when the high court has given the land mark judgment and also observed that state assembly can rectify the error, it was appropriate for these two regional parties to join hands to pass the bill, but ironically PDP has not spoken even a word over the issue and NC seems confused and also not interested in proceeding ahead in the matter,” Rasheed said.
He appealed NC and PDP to show “some respect towards the sacrifices and sentiments of Kashmiri’s and should not get afraid of ultra-radical forces”.
