Awami Ittihaad Party President (AIP) and MLA Langate Engineer Rashid Saturday day filed his nomination papers from Baramulla Parliamentary Constituency. Despite lashing rainfall  people in huge number from Kupwara, Bandipora and Baramulla and other parts of the Kashmir valley were present on the occasion.

According to a statement issued to KNS, Engineer Rashid termed the impressive mode developed at the inspiring gathering as a good omen signaling positive change for Kashmir. Pertinently, Engineer Rashid stressed that sensing the mode of people the parties like National Conference and PDP should accept their defeat and also the larger reality that people of Kashmir cannot be hoodwinked by exploitative politics of NC and PDP.

Engineer Rashid stated: “Calling for the solution of Kashmir dispute does not mean treason towards constitution of India as the Founder of India and first elected Prime Minister of India Jawahar Lal  Nehru had taken the issue to United Nations. If Nehru taking Kashmir Dispute to UN and calling for Plebiscite to settle the Kashmir Dispute is not traitor than how come Kashmiris are traitors who demand implementation of Plebiscite. Today or Tomorrow Delhi would have to heed to the people of Kashmir and look for the solution of Kashmir Dispute and that too outside the paradigm of its constitution. For the time being  Narendra Modi or other leaders are not honest in solving Kashmir dispute but ultimately they will have to talk to resistance leadership like Hurriyat and honest, dedicated representatives of people of Kashmir to settle this dispute.”

Engineer Rashid questioned the relationship between Narendra Modi and Omar Abullah , Mehbooba Mufti and stated that said leaders are close to Modi so as to appease the upcoming government for their personal gains and not for the genuine interests of the browbeaten Kashmiri nation.

Engineer Rashid further added:“Those vested interests who are dividing people on the basis of regional, religious and sectarian lines should introspect and this gathering is a strong message to such negative elements. Kashmiri nation has already suffered a lot so there is no room for such dirty dividing politics.”
