SRINAGAR: In a major relief for the Awami Itehad Party (AIP), the interim bail of Er Rashid, Member of Parliament for the North Kashmir Lok Sabha seat, was today extended until October 28.
Confirming this to the news agency Kashmir News Observer (KNO), AIP chief spokesman Inam-ul-Nabi stated that the interim bail of Er Rashid has been extended until October 28 by the Patiala House Court in New Delhi. “We hope to see Er Rashid out on permanent bail soon,” he said.
Er Rashid was released on September 11 after serving five and a half years in New Delhi’s Tihar Jail. He was arrested in connection with a terror-funding case. Initially, he was granted bail until October 4, which was subsequently extended until October 15. “Today, we feel relieved that Er Rashid’s bail has been extended until October 28,” said Inam.
Meanwhile, Er Rashid has been extensively touring the North Kashmir Parliamentary constituency to review the pace of developmental projects. He is also visiting hospitals and meeting people to address their issues immediately. — (KNO)
