Evicting Jammu Muslims from their homes and creating fear among Muslims in Jammu’s Chenab area by “deploying” Hindu officers “in place of Muslim officers” has proved once again that “present rulers are deployed to destroy Jammu Kashmir”.

“Kashmiri Muslims can’t silently watch the atrocities being committed on their brothers in Jammu,” a J&K Jamiat Ahlihadees (JaH) statement quoting its president, Professor Ghulam Mohammad Butt Almadani.

Jamiat president said that present government in Jammu Kashmir has started implementing “some hidden agenda” on Kashmir especially in Jammu.

“Rulers have started targeting Muslims and displacing Muslims from their homes and bulldozing their small homes are glaring examples of this oppressive behaviour. In the name of forest land, Muslims are being targeted, their homes are being bulldozed on Israeli style and hence, their roof is being snatched from the heads of thousands of poor and downtrodden,” Prof Butt said.

Moreover, the statement quoted Prof Butt as having said, “muslim officers are being transferred and Hindu officers are being deployed all over the region and throughout Chenab Valley. This has increased fear among the Muslims living these areas.”

He further said that “1947 like situation” is being created throughout Jammu, Rajouri, Poonch, Doda, Kishtwra, Baderwah and Rambhan areas .

“There are reports that government through its officers is trying to manipulate data of population to change the demography of these areas so that Muslim majority areas are turned as minority.”

Jamiat president further said, “Kashmiri Muslims can’t remain silent over this situation and we are with our Jammu brothers in this regard. The Policies of present government are anti-Muslim but we want to convey to them that they are playing with fire and these measures will have disastrous results and the responsibility of all this would rest with the rulers.”

“Kashmiris will not watch atrocities on Jammu Muslims and other minorities silently and we stand by our Jammu brothers,” the statement said.

Meanwhile, Jamiat Ahlihadees strongly condemned the brutal killing of a member of Tehreek-I-Hurriyat, Altaf ur Rehman, in Sopore. Jamiat president while paying for the heavenly abode of the deceased prayed for his bereaved family and expressed heartfelt grief and sorrow over this tragic death, the statement concluded.
