Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Farooq Khan today asked the Administrative Reforms, Inspections (ARI) and Trainings Department to expedite the process for finalization of recruitment and services rules of all government departments of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir to bring them in line with Central rules.

Chairing a meeting to review the functioning of ARI & Trainings Department, here at Civil Secretariat, the Advisor exhorted upon the officers to immediately start the exercise for updation of recruitment and service rules.

“After J&K became UT, all the Central services and recruitment rules are now applicable to J&K. A massive exercise needs to be undertaken to make the earlier rules compatible with Central rules,” the Advisor directed.

The meeting was attended by Director General, Stationery and Office Supplies, J&K; Director Finance, ARI & Trainings; Secretary BOPEE; Additional Secretary ARI & Trainings; General Manager Govt. Press Jammu/Kashmir and other concerned officers.

During the meeting, it was informed that ARI & Trainings Department has finalized the recruitment rules of 32 services during past two years.

On its working, the meeting was apprised that the department coordinates and finalizes recruitment rules of all Government Departmental Services (Gazetted and Non-Gazetted) and for this model recruitment rules have been drafted by to bring uniformity in service conditions.

It was further informed that the department has been entrusted with the work of General Inspection of the Government Departments.

It also meets the need for stationery and printing of the government departments and other public sector units. The department has under its administrative control Directorate of Stationery and Office Supplies and two Government Presses at Jammu and Srinagar, the meeting was informed.

The meeting was told that Board Of Professional Entrance Examinations is also under the administrative control of the department with a mandate to conduct entrance examinations, selections and provide counseling for various professional courses.
