Aspirants who had applied for various posts in Fire and Emergency Services (F&ES) department on Monday staged protest against the authorities for ‘failing to make the selection list of the candidate’s public’.

The aspirants assembled at Srinagar’s press enclave and chanted slogans like ‘we want justice’.

They were demanding declaration of final selection list.

The protesting aspirants said, “We have been waiting for the selection list from past four years, the authorities in the department are paying no heed over the sufferings of the candidates who have applied for the posts.”

The aspirants said that the authorities must not ignore the plights of the candidates and should declare the results as soon as possible. “The final selection list is being delayed deliberately to pave way for backdoor appointments,” the protesting candidates alleged.

“Fire and Emergency Services department advertised various posts in 2013. Though all the exams have been conducted, the selection list is still awaited,” protesters said, demanding declaration of final selection list.

They later appealed the authorities in the department to look into the matter and redress the genuine grievances of the aspirants.
