SRINAGAR: A day after a fake ‘Cardiologist’ was apprehended at Lal Ded Hospital here, the government announced on Thursday that the investigation is in full swing, and appropriate measures are being taken to prevent a recurrence of the incident.
Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri stated that immediate action was initiated as soon as the incident was reported yesterday.
“The investigation is ongoing, and we are collaborating with the health department to establish the facts,” he stated.
He also emphasised that necessary measures would be implemented to prevent a repeat of such an incident.
Notably, an individual posing as a cardiologist at Lal Ded Hospital in Srinagar was detained.
Officials had reported that a person from Ganderbal, impersonating a cardiologist, gained access to the labour room where he interacted with several patients. They revealed that the fake cardiologist had advised most of the patients to undergo an ECG and suggested that they would be transferred to SMHS. (KNO)
