Family members of a teenaged boy, who went missing last week from his native Mughulpora village in northern Kashmir’s Kupwara district, are worried about his safety.

A class X student, Sharik Ahmad Mir 16, son of Zahoor Ahmad Mir, went missing October 30, after he left home for school to appear in annual examination, his brother said, today.

“We searched him frantically everywhere including relatives’ but did not find him. He was under depression after date sheet for class X examination was issued a few days before he went missing. We are worried about his safety,” said Tariq Zahoor Mir, brother of missing Sharik.

“We have already registered a missing report in concerned police post but police has so far failed to trace him out. I appeal superintendent of police Kupwara to intensify search and trace him out,” he added.

Sharik is student of high school Gushi.
