Famous Urdu Poet Arsh Sehbai Is No More

SRINAGAR: Urdu’s famous poet Arsh Sehbai is no more. He was the foremost poet from Jammu.

Reports from Jammu said that Arsh Sehbai breathed last at his Jammu residence.

Sehbai was born as Hans Raj Abrol. He was born on December 3, 1930, in Sseri village of Akhnoon. Later, he has migrated to Jammu where he would live in Resham Ghar colony. He has been a poet from early in his age and was known by his pen name, Arsh Sehbai.

Arsh has published more than half a dozen of his poetic collections. These include Shikast-e-Jaam (1958), Shiguft-e-Gul (1961), Jane Pehchane Log (1966), Nayaab (2004). His last poetic collection was Jawaz was released by Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art and Culture in 2012

Sehabi was one of the most respected Urdu poets from Jammu and Kashmir. Throughout his life, he has been very popular across India and Pakistan.
