SRINAGAR: National Conference president and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah attended the proceedings of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly from the Speaker’s Gallery on Tuesday as the House entered the sixth day of its ongoing session.
Abdullah was present in the gallery as legislators raised various issues and took part in discussions on matters concerning public interest.
His visit came a day after the Assembly passed a resolution seeking restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.
The session has seen deliberations on legislative, governance and public-interest issues, with Tuesday’s proceedings also witnessing interventions and exchanges among members over administration, development and matters concerning the people of the Union Territory.
The Assembly is scheduled to continue its deliberations on the remaining listed business during the session.
