Farooq Abdullah Calls For Tourism Promotion, Says Sector is Mainstay of Kashmir Economy

   

SRINAGAR: National Conference president and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah on Saturday stressed the need to promote tourism in Kashmir, describing the sector as a mainstay of the region’s economy.

Abdullah emphasised the importance of supporting initiatives aimed at attracting more visitors and contributing to economic activity in Jammu and Kashmir.

His remarks came in the context of the Rotary Golf Tournament, which began in Srinagar on September 16 and is scheduled to conclude with its final match at the Lidder Valley Golf Course in Pahalgam today.

The tournament is among the initiatives being held to promote tourism and showcase the region’s sporting and tourism potential.
