National Conference president and Member Parliament Dr Farooq Abdullah, on Saturday released Rs one crore to help in efforts to combat Covid-19 threat in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir from his Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS).

National Conference in a tweet said that “Party president and MP Srinagar Dr Farooq Abdullah today released an amount of Rs 1 Cr to combat #COVID19 threat in J&K from his MPLAD. Out of this, Rs 50 lakh has been earmarked for SKIMS Srinagar and Rs 25 lakh each for Budgam and Ganderbal districts.”

“Party President Dr Farooq Abdullah has asked JKNC MPs from the south and north Kashmir to release funds for combating COVID19 threat in their respective constituencies,” said the National Conference in a tweet.

Earlier he has requested all well-wishers, workers, party functionaries to refrain from visiting his residence, which has been seeing huge public gatherings following his release.

Dr Farooq Abdullah’s detention under the Public Safety Act was revoked on Friday last week after seven and a half months.
