SRINAGAR: In a shocking update to the murder case of the 9-year-old girl in Kupwara, the father has been arrested for the heinous crime. The girl’s throat-slit body was found in the Zab village of Khurhama area in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, and the incident had left the community in shock.
After launching an investigation into the matter, the police have now made an arrest in connection with the case.
The suspect in question is none other than the victim’s own father, whose motive behind the crime has not been revealed yet. Confirming the arrest, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kupwara stated that the father has been taken into custody on charges of murdering his daughter.
The incident took place on Wednesday evening when the victim, a young girl from the area, had stepped out of her home to buy something from a nearby shop. However, when she did not return home until late in the evening, the family began searching for her. It was then that the mother found her daughter’s lifeless body lying near a shed at their home, with her throat slit.
The family immediately rushed the girl to the hospital, but it was too late. Doctors declared her dead on arrival, leaving the family and the entire community in shock and disbelief. Following this, the police launched a probe into the incident, which led them to suspect the victim’s own father.
While the motive behind the murder remains unclear, the police have assured the public that they are doing everything in their power to get to the bottom of this heinous crime. The incident has sparked outrage and anger among the local community, who are calling for swift justice to be served in the case.
