Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday claimed to have arrested two drug peddlers in north Kashmir’s Sopore town
A police spokesman in a statement said that on the directions of SSP Sopore Javaid Iqbal-JKPS under the supervision of SDPO Sopore Raja Majid-KPS, a naka was laid by a police party of Police Station Sopore led by SHO Police Station Sopore Azim Iqbal.
“During naka checking, two persons namely Ghulam Mohiuddin Dar alias @Mahad Chunti son of Ghulam Mohammad Dar and Ghulam Hassan Dar son of Ghulam Mohiuddin Dar (Father and Son) residents of Teliyan Mohalla Arampora Sopore were apprehended upon their personal search, 1/2 kg Charas was recovered from their possession,” said the spokesman.
“The accused were arrested and FIR No.209/2019 U/S 8/20,29 NDPS act has been registered in Police Station Sopore and further investigation set into the motion to ascertain any further inter-district or interstate link,” it said.
“General Public is further requested to assist and inform Sopore Police about any drug peddling activity going on in their area to help in order to eradicate this menace,” said the spokesman.
