SRINAGAR: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Saturday conducted raids at three different locations in Kashmir and also at the house of a Doda-based doctor at Bhatindi in Jammu.

As per media reports, Mehraj-u-Din Sofi, 19, and his father Ghulam Mohammad Sofi were picked up by the NIA early morning from Kralpora village of Kupwara. The duo has been taken to Srinagar for questioning. Mehraj-ud-Din is pursuing B Com from Government Degree College Kupwara.

The NIA also carried out raids in Kulgam and Shopian. The  case pertains to the criminal conspiracy for carrying out militant and subversive activities hatched by the cadres and Over Ground Workers (OWGs) of various proscribed organizations and their affiliates, reports said.

Meanwhile, in Jammu, the NIA raided residence of  Dr Parvez Mir at Bhatindi on the outskirts of Jammu City. NIA was actually looking for his nephew Mohammad Osama  who had reportedly used an App to send certain emails which are part of investigations.
