SRINAGAR: A father and his son were critically injured on Tuesday after being attacked by a bear in Kunmulla Akhal area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, officials said.
The injured were identified as Muhammad Noor Din Bargat (25) and his father, Muhammad Rasheed Bargat. Both were rushed to the Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Kangan, but doctors referred them to SKIMS Soura in Srinagar due to their serious injuries.
The incident has triggered concern among residents, who said human-wildlife conflicts are rising in the area. Locals urged the administration to adopt stronger preventive measures to protect villagers from such attacks.
Forest and wildlife officials said the situation is being monitored and assured that steps will be taken to reduce the risk of further incidents. (KNT)
