SRINAGAR: The always smiling Fida Ali is no more. As a senior officer in the Department of Information and Public Relations, Fida Ali was Information Officer to former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.

Reports said that he passed away at his residence Baghwanpora, Lal Bazaar, Srinagar.

Fida Ali was one of the few old generation Information Officers who knew the art of public relations without the internet and modern gadgets. It was because of this capacity that Fida Ali was appointed as Officer on Special Duty in Chief Minister’s office.

Fida Ali was unwell for a long time. However, he had turned critical in May.

He is survived by two daughters and a wife. Both his daughters are settled.

His colleagues are pained over the loss. One of his erstwhile subordinates, Ahsan Chasti wrote on his Facebook: “He was the supervisor, guide and above all an always smiling friend besides being an immediate officer whom we reported while he was in service. His daily meetings in his chamber would always be like friendly chats where subordinates instead of justifying their mistakes would humbly report them. Who among us would forget the naeder mounji he would always serve whenever we would be with him. Indeed a very capable professional and a passionate officer, he would always take interest in the problems of his subordinates and bestow with his experiences and advice. Rare to find such people now.”

Director Information and Public Relations (DIPR), Rahul Pandey condoles the sad demise of former Deputy Director Information Fida Ali, who passed away today morning.

In a condolence message, Rahul Pandey expressed deep sorrow and grief over the demise of Fida Ali and remembered him for his contribution to the department. He offered his deepest condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for peace to the departed soul.

Meanwhile, the employees of DIPR also expressed their grief and sorrow over the demise of Fida Ali. They offered their deepest condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and courage for the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.

Joint Director Information and Public Relations, Kashmir Division, Haris Ahmad Handoo expressed deep grief and sorrow over the demise of former Deputy Director Information Fida Ali, who passed away on Monday.

JDIK in this regard convened a  condolence meeting in his Office chamber to offer his deepest condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for peace to the departed soul.

Incharge Deputy Director, PR, Kashmir, Mohammad Aslam khan while remembering the former Deputy Director, said that Fida Ali was highly versed, qualified and a repository of knowledge who guided the Information department to new heights as a diversified department.

Meanwhile, the employees, while expressing their grief and sorrow over the demise of Fida Ali, highlighted his role as an honest, compassionate and dynamic officer.

They offered their deepest condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and patience for the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.

The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President and Vice President Omar Abdullah expressed profound grief and sorrow over the demise of former Deputy Director Information, and Public Relations Kashmir Fida Ali.
In his condolence message, Dr Farooq said, “Received the news of Fida Sahib’s passing away with profound grief.  He had the distinction of working with Sher e Kashmir. He will be remembered for his meritorious service to the department of information. During his stint as the deputy director DIPR Kashmir, he made earnest efforts to diversify the roles played by the department. I pray to Almighty to bestow highest stations to the deceased in the Jannat and forbearance to the bereaved to bear the inconsolable loss.”
It is pertinent to mention here that Late Fida Sahib had also served as publicity secretary to Party President Dr Farooq Abdullah.
In his condolence message, Omar Abdullah said, “The news of passing away of Fida Sahib has saddened me.  I had the opportunity to closely view his attitude of determination and work ethics, in his capacity as my OSD Media. A meritorious writer, journalist and civil servant, he rendered commendable service to the information department.  I express my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and pray for peace to the departed in the highest echelons of Jannat. I share the grief of the bereaved family and pray for the fortitude to them at this difficult time,” he said.
