PDP MLC Zafar Iqbal Manhas on Tuesday had a fierce verbal dual with his party colleague and Minister for Youth, Service and Sports Imran Raza Ansari in the upper house.
The two would have come to blows had Zafar Iqbal Manhas not relented and stopped responding to Ansari’s angry tone and tenor.
It all started when Zafar Iqbal Manhas stood up to agitate against chairman Haji Anayat Ali for allowing MLCs to raise multiple supplementaries over a single question and thus, denying other MLCs the opportunity to raise their questions.
“Why are we here? What are we doing? You are giving too much time to a single question. This is intolerable,” Manhas was seen agitating. This irked Imran who was replying to a clubbed question of Sofi Yousuf and Saif-ud-din Bhat. He looked towards Zafar and asked him to stop disturbing him.
“Please sit down. You have this habit of disturbing others. Sit down,” Imran told Manhas who retorted and told him to mind his own business.
“You are not the chairman of this house. You cannot dictate me what to do and what not. I am answerable to chairman and not you,” Manhas was heard saying.
Imran went two steps ahead and told Manhas “You keep your foot in your mouth. I know why you are here? I know very well. Shut up.”
Zafar reacted and told Imran to shut up. The dual lasted for around 3 minutes with chairman Haji Anayat Ali looking helplessly at the two PDP colleagues.
