The Cabinet on Wednesday approved the financial package for a one-time full and final settlement of the bonafide state subject PoK-displaced and Chhamb-displaced persons for being recommended to the Government of India, an official statement said.
“The proposal includes providing funds to the tune of Rs. 9096 crore for payment of compensation as one time settlement in favour of 36384 PoK/Chhamb families @Rs. 25 lakh per family,” it said.
Meanwhile, the cabinet also approvedcreation of new administration units in left out areas on the recommendations of the Khurshid Ahmed Ganai led expert committee, constituted to examine the feasibility/demands for creation of new administrative units in the left out areas.
The Committee had recommended the creation of 9 new sub-divisions, 50 new tehsils, 99 new niabats and 63 new CD blocks.
