Fire Breaks Out Near LD Hospital in Srinagar

   

SRINAGAR: A fire incident reported near the LD Hospital Bund in Srinagar on Sunday afternoon was swiftly brought under control by the Fire and Emergency Services, preventing any loss of life or major damage.

According to officials, the Fire and Emergency Services (FES) Gowkadal, Command Srinagar, received the fire call at around 2.25 pm and responded immediately. Fire tenders were dispatched within a minute, reaching the spot at 2.26 pm.

The Deputy Director, Fire and Emergency Services, said that one room of a three-storeyed residential house was involved in the incident. Firefighters acted promptly, containing the blaze and stopping it from spreading to other parts of the building or nearby structures.

Preliminary assessment suggests that the fire was caused by a short circuit, allegedly due to haphazard electrical wiring. Officials said the situation is fully under control and no injuries or fatalities were reported.

Authorities added that further investigation will be conducted if required to ascertain additional details related to the incident.

Fire and Emergency Services urged residents to ensure safe electrical installations to prevent such incidents.
