A houseboat namely Prince of Kashmir completely gutted in a fire accident on Wednesday night near Nehru Park, Dal lake Srinagar.
The houseboat belongs to Ghulam Rasool Saiya, son of Ghulam Mohammad Saiya, caught fire on Wednesday night, resulting in complete damage of houseboat.
However the firemen were pressed to douse the flames who immediately shifted the nearer houseboats to safer places, “otherwise it could have been a huge loss,” an official said.
According to the statement given to police, the approximate loss of the houseboat is three crore fifty lakhs.
However, the cause of the fire was not known yet.
