SRINAGAR: A fire damaged two rooms in a boys’ hostel at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar on Wednesday, officials reported.
Fire and Emergency Services officials stated that the fire started at 1:20 PM in one of the rooms in the three-story building and spread to another, resulting in damage to both rooms.
The prompt response of the fire services and NIT staff ensured the fire was controlled quickly, preventing further damage.
No injuries were reported, as the rooms were unoccupied at the time of the incident.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, the officials added. (UNI)
