SRINAGAR: A fire incident on Saturday reduced a structure of the Department of Fisheries to ashes at Nehru Park in the Gagribal area of Srinagar, officials said.
Reports said that flames erupted in the departmental building, causing alarm among visitors and locals in the otherwise busy park area.
Fire and Emergency Services teams rushed to the scene soon after receiving the alert and launched firefighting operations.
Despite their swift response, the structure was completely gutted before the fire could be brought under control. However, timely intervention prevented the blaze from spreading to nearby installations.
Officials confirmed that no casualties or injuries were reported in the incident.
