According to FES, the control room received information about the blaze at 5:12 pm, following which fire tenders from Fire Station Rawalpora and Fire Station Nowgam were dispatched within a minute. On reaching the site, firefighters found that the fire had erupted inside the shopping complex, prompting the mobilisation of additional reinforcement from FES headquarters to prevent it from spreading to adjoining shops and structures.

Officials said swift and coordinated firefighting efforts helped bring the fire under control and confine it to a single room, thereby averting major damage to the complex.

The operation was led by the in-charges of Fire Stations Rawalpora and Nowgam under the supervision of Deputy Director FES Mir Aqib Hussain, along with Mobilising Officer Aijaz Ahmad Shah.

No injuries or loss of life were reported in the incident. An investigation has been initiated to ascertain the cause of the fire.
