In the militant attack in North Kashmir’s Sopore area, the death toll has mounted to two.
Reports said that the second deceased has been identified as Ab Rahim Lone.
The civilian Abdul Rahim, a handicapped person, succumbed to the injuries later, sources said.
A local news gathering agency, GNS, added that being a local resident, Rahim, they said, used to stay at the shrine and attends the devotees who come from all parts of the Valley. The assailants also decamped with the service rifle (INSAS) of the deceased cop.
Earlier a JKP Head Constable guarding the famous Tujjer Shrine died in the indiscriminate firing by suspected militants this afternoon.
