Speaker Legislative Assembly Mubarak Gul Monday said that firing and shelling on Line of Control would continue till Kashmir issue is not resolved. His comments came after Panthers party member Balwant Singh Mankotia tried to disrupt the proceedings of the House over the issue of ceasefire violations by Pakistani troops.

Mankotia alleged that State Government did not react over the issue while the House should condemn ceasefire violations allegedly committed by Pakistan. He said that the people living along LoC are facing great difficulties.

Speaker Mubarak Gul asked the MLA to allow the obituary references and bring in a motion for discussion. However, Mankotia entered into Well and tried to disrupt the proceedings after that he was Marshalled out on the instructions of the Legislative Speaker. Speaker Mubarak Gul said that such type of behaviour is unacceptable and the voters should teach a lesson to such members who frequently disrupt the proceedings.

Gul according to CNS added that firing on LoC is a common phenomena and it continues for years now. “This firing on LoC would continue till Kashmir issue not gets resolved,” he informed the House.

Speaker Mubarak Gul was lauded by independent MLA Er Rashid when during obituary reference he maintained that former Speaker late Abdul Ahad Vakil played a key role during ‘Quit Kashmir Movement’. Rashid said that he appreciates Speaker for not distorting the history based upon facts. “The mission (Quit Kashmir Movement) of Vakil is still going on and it will be the greatest tribute to the departed soul if Kashmir issue gets resolved,” Rashid said.
