The first batch of Hajis arrived on Friday morning and were received by chief minister, Omar Abdullah at Srinagar airport.
The Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy, Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Minister of State for Haj and Auqaf, Aijaz Ahmad Khan were also present on the occasion.
Omar Abdullah congratulated the Haj pilgrims and enquired about the status of arrangement made by the concerned State department at Saudi Arabia and enroute.
“The Hajis have expressed their satisfaction over the arrangements during Haj and they informed that during the Haj days, they have prayed for peace, prosperity and development of the State and well-being of the mankind,” a government statement reads.
As many as 270 Hajis including 105 women returned from Saudi Arabia on Friday.
