SRINAGAR: Two individuals have been apprehended, and six others have been implicated for disseminating objectionable content on Instagram, with the motive of instigating communal tensions in the region, officials said.
A complaint, lodged by Amit Sharma, asserted that the shared posts had the potential to incite discord between communities in Khana Chargal village.
“In Ramban district, five youths are facing charges for similar social media posts, while in Kathua district, one individual has been booked for a derogatory post,” added the official.
Meanwhile, law enforcement emphasised that constant surveillance is maintained over all social media platforms, with cyber cells diligently monitoring posts and comments.
“Stringent actions will be taken against individuals posting anything deemed provocative or that spreads hatred,” affirmed the official.
