Five cops from the state police wing have been placed under suspension for the Monday goof up in which three right wing youth from right wing party in Jammu jumped into the house. They were carrying a flag of the new party Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Front that erstwhile BJP leader prof Chaman Lal Gupta’s son is heading.

Informed sources in the state police said the services of five cops were placed under suspension pending enquiry for their failure in not detecting the flag that the three youth were carrying. These cops were posted on one of the many entrances  of the state legislative complex where from visitors are permitted.

It was not immediately known if there was any action against any of the assembly staff. The houses has unanimously supported action against the BJP Lawmaker Jagdish raj Sapolia who was found responsible for facilitating the entry of the Jammu trio into the assembly on properly issued security passes. He has even driven them in to the premesis in his officially allotted gypsy.

The Monday incident had a visible impact in the assembly on Tuesday. There are quite a few persons in the public gallery apparently because the lawmakers have seemingly not issued many permission slips to their voters.

Speaker M A Lone ruled that there will be no compromise on the security and the chair is empowered to withdraw the passes issued by any lawmaker. Lone was responding to the interventions by independent lawmaker engineer Rashid who said the pass issued by him to his personal assistant has not been honored.

“There will be no compromise on the security of the house,” Lone ruled. “Even if the MLAs need to be frisked for security, there is no harm.”

As engineer tried to create a scene saying that the chair is not trusting his own members of the house, Lone said how can a lawmaker be trusted who lacks belief in the Indian Cnstitution. “you are demanding plebiscite, go and demand it outside this house,” Speaker Lone ruled.
