SRINAGAR: Six persons, including five of a family, were injured after a vehicle they were on board, fell into a deep gorge near Sher Bibi along the Srinagar-Jammu highway on Tuesday evening.

Reports said that a Srinagar-bound i10 vehicle bearing Registration Number JK-02BB 8588 met an accident after the driver apparently lost control over the vehicle leading to injuries to at least six persons.

The injured persons have been identified as; Umesh Sharma Age (40) son of Hardinath, his wife Meenu (36), their daughters Bhavi (6), Vidyanshi (10) and Kiyan (3months) besides driver of the vehicle Ramesh Sharma (50) son of Girdari Lal, all residents of Jammu.

Confirming the incident, SHO Banihal Nayeem Ul Haq Matoo told news agency GNS that two injured passengers, Ramesh and Vidyanshi, have been shifted to SDH Banihal and GMC Anantnag respectively for advanced treatment.
