Jammu and Kashmir Police has arrested five gamblers and recovered Rs. 5,820 stake money from their possession, said a spokesman.
“Five persons were arrested following a credible input about gambling activities in M.K. Chowk area of Srinagar,” said police spokesman in a statement.
“Officers have seized playing cards and a stake amount of Rs 5,820 from the gamblers,” said the spokesman.
“Case FIR No. 03/2019 under section 13 Gambling Act stands registered in Police Station Zadibal,” he said.
“Persons found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to pass information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood o the local units,” Police spokesman in a statement said.
