SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police have solved a poplar tree theft case in Kund, Kulgam, leading to the recovery of stolen property and the arrest of five individuals involved in the crime.
A complaint was lodged by Mukhtar Ahmad Bhat of Churat Qazigund at Police Station Kund, stating that poplar trees he had stored along the roadside at Waltengo, Kund, were stolen on the night of March 4-5.
Following the complaint, police registered an FIR and launched an investigation, led by SHO Kund. The police team utilized all available resources, ultimately tracing and recovering the stolen wood.
The arrested suspects have been identified as, Manzoor Ahmad Deeded, Mohd Hanif Deeded, Maneer Ahmad Deeded (all sons of Rajwali Deeded from Nigeenpora Nad), Rajesh Kumar of Hameerpora, Himachal Pradesh, and Basharat Ahmad Tenda of Waltengo Nad.
Police have initiated further investigations to determine whether more individuals were involved in the theft. (KNT)
