SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday claimed to have arrested five LeT militant associates in north Kashmir’s Sopore town of Baramulla district.

A police spokesman in a statement said that while acting on a specific human/technical inputs, Sopore Police/Security forces arrested five OGW’s of LeT outfit with incriminating materials, identified as Khursheed Ahmad Lone son of Abdul Rehman Lone a resident of Nowpora Jagir Kreeri Baramulla, Bashir Ahmad Zargar son of Ghulam-ud-din Zargar a resident of Behrampora Rafiabad, Javid Ahmad Pandith son of Nazir Ahmad Pandith a resident of Dangerpora Sopore, Waseem Ahmad Lone son of Ghulam Rasool Lone a resident of Botingoo Sopore and Arif Ahmad Khanday son of Shams-ud-din Khanday a resident of Zaloora Sopore, who were involved in providing of logistics and other assistance/transportation to the LeT militants and were also in constant contact with the active militants of the outfit to carry out subversive activities within the jurisdiction of Police District Sopore.

“The arrested OGWs Khursheed Ahmad Lone son of Abdul Rehman Lone a resident of Nowpora Jagir Kreeri Baramulla has been arrested in Case FIR No. 122/2020 of PS Tarzoo, Bashir Ahmad Zargar son of Ghulam-ud-din Zargar a resident of Behrampora, Rafiabad arrested in Case FIR No. 154/2020 of PS Dangiwacha, Javid Ahmad Pandith son of Nazir Ahmad Pandith a resident of Dangerpora, Sopore and Waseem Ahmad Lone son of Ghulam Rasool Lone a resident of Botingoo, Sopore arrested in Case FIR No. 360/2020 of PS Sopore while as OGW Arif Ahmad Khanday son of Shams-ud-din Khanday a resident of Zaloora, Sopore arrested in Case FIR No. 84/2020 of PS Bomai and investigation of these cases are going on,” said the spokesman.
