SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday claimed to have arrested five militant associates of Islamic State Jammu Kashmir (ISJK) in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

A police spokesman in a statement said that on a credible input, five militant associates have arrested and incriminating material including Matrix Sheets, ISJK Flags and ammunition has been recovered from their possession.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that arrested militant associates are linked to proscribed outfit ISJK and carried out the recce of Army camp to attack in future,” said the spokesman.

“They were also involved in motivating and radicalizing the local youth to join the proscribed outfit. Besides they were also making flags of ISJK outfit in Chittibandy Aragam area of Bandipora and further supplying it to their associates in Srinagar,” he said.

“Accordingly, a case FIR No. 30/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Aragam and further investigation has been initiated,” said a police spokesman in a statement.
