SRINAGAR: Police, along with security forces, have arrested five militant associates linked to the proscribed militant outfit LeT in Budgam. Incriminating materials were also recovered from their possession.

In a statement, it was mentioned that the police, in collaboration with the Army (62 RR), apprehended the individuals in the Khag area of Budgam district.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Rouf Ahmad Wani, son of Abdul Majeed Wani, a resident of Bhatangan Khag; Hilal Ahmad Malik, son of Ghulam Hassan Malik, a resident of Bathipora Khag; Tawfeeq Ahmad Dar, son of Nazir Ahmad Dar, a resident of Nowrooz Baba Khag; Danish Ahmad Dar, son of Manzoor Ahmad Dar, and Showkat Ali Dar, son of Ali Mohammad Dar, a resident of Bathipora Khag.

The recovered materials have been documented as evidence for further investigation and have been included in the case records. A case, FIR No. 45/2023, has been registered at Khag Police Station, and the investigation is currently underway, as stated in the press release. (KS)
