SRINAGAR: At least five houses were damaged in a massive fire in Mahrajpora area of Sopore town in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Saturday.
Reports said that a massive fire erupted in one house at around 04:00 am and immediately engulfed nearby houses.
An official said that a police team along with fire tenders rushed to the spot and doused the flames with the help of locals, but till then five residential structures were damaged.
Those whose houses were damaged include Bashir Ahmad Dar, Habibullah Dar, Mohmmad Shuban Malla, Ghulam Nabi Malla, and Nazir Ahmad Malla.
However, no casualty has been reported in the incident.
He said the cause of the fire is being ascertained.
