Five persons were injured, one of them with a gunshot wound, during clashes in Hajin in northern Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

Reports said that a youth was hit by bullet on his left ankle after army men allegedly went berserk in the area after being pelted with stones.

He was identified as Naseer Ahmad Shah and has been referred to JVC hospital at Bemina in Srinagar.

They said that the joint party of army’s 13RR and Police were patrolling in Parray Mohallah and Bon Mohallah areas of Hajin during which youth pelted them with stones resulting in clashes.

Forces fired teargas canisters to break up the protests, however, youth continued to pelt stones on them.

Locals alleged that forces set a stack of dried grass on fire and ransacked many residential houses in the area.
