Five Tippers Seized for Illegal Mining in South Kashmir

   

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir police in South Kashmir’s Awantipora seized five tippers used in the illegal excavation and transportation of minerals in Patalbagh, Pampore.

“A police party from Police Station Pampore, led by the SHO under the supervision of SDPO Pampore, seized five tippers bearing registration numbers JK02AH-8984, JK04E-1427, JK03B-3251, JK04B-3681, and JK03B-3314. Accordingly, a case under FIR No. 50/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Pampore, and further investigation is underway,” police said.

Police remain committed to taking strict action against those violating the law by extracting minerals illegally, particularly during night hours. “Such activities harm public health, damage the environment, and result in revenue loss to the government. Community members are urged to report any illegal mining activities in their vicinity,” police said.
