Flash Floods Damage Infrastructure in Kargil Villages After Heavy Rain

   

SRINAGAR: Flash floods triggered by heavy rainfall hit Hardass and Tumail villages in Ladakh’s Kargil district, damaging public infrastructure and disrupting normal life, officials said.

According to officials, a sudden surge of floodwaters inundated parts of the two villages, affecting roads and other public infrastructure.

Local authorities and emergency response teams reached the affected areas soon after the incident to assess the extent of the damage and initiate relief measures.

Officials said assessments were underway to determine the losses caused by the flash floods. Restoration of damaged infrastructure and clearance of affected roads were also being taken up.

There were no immediate reports of any casualties or injuries in the incident, officials said. The administration continued to monitor the situation as rescue and relief efforts progressed in the affected villages.
