The Level of water in Jehlum has touched flood declaration mark after 18 ft of water was monitored at Ram Munshibagh in Srinagar.

Due to the continued rains, the gauge at Ram Munshibagh has touched the Flood Declaration Level of 18 ft at 6 pm, reads an order issued by Chief Engineer Irrigation & Flood Contol, Mohammad Hanief Lone.

In the order, people living along the embankments of river Jhelum/nallahs and low-lying areas of central Kashmir have been asked to remain vigilant.

“…the staff deputed on flood duty in central Kashmir is directed to report to their respective beats,” the order reads.

A – RIVER JHELUM
Sangam = 19.95 ft
Ram Munshibagh = 18.00 ft
Asham = 10.08 ft

B – TRIBUTARIES
Vishow Nallah at Khudwani = 7.35 m
Rambiyara Nallah at Vachi = 1.96 m
Lidder Nallah at Batkoot = 1.11 m
