The Director General of Jammu and Kashmir Police K Rajindra Kumar Wednesday said that he has directed all the senior officers of the police to follow SOP in letter and spirit during law and order situations.

“I have  directed all the SSPs and SDPOs to conduct a meeting with SHOs and other police officials to ask them to follow SOP in letter and spirit while dealing with law and order problems,”  DGP told KNS.

The DGP said that police are committed to ensure “zero tolerance” while dealing with the law and order problem.  “I assure that Police will ensure zero tolerance. Measures will be taken to ensure that law and order is maintained and at the same time situation should not be allowed to develop to a level which has negative fallout,” he said.

The Police Chief, however, said, “Police will not allow any body to disturb the law and order situation in Kashmir. I suggest the youth that instead of indulging in stone pelting they should work for the betterment of the society.”

It is to mention here that the DGP Tuesday had said that investigation into the Gowhar’s killing is on and those who are found guilty will be punished as per law.

“Everything will be cleared and case will be thoroughly investigated as loss of any innocent life is highly condemnable. Law will take its own course. Whosoever is found guilty will be punished,” the DGP had said.
