SRINAGAR: In a shocking decision All India Football Federation banned Real Kashmir’s coach David Robertson and his son for four matches. RKFC is Kashmir’s main football club that has been ranked high in the I-League.

Robertson and his son Mason Robertson, who plays as a centre back, were on Saturday suspended for four matches and fined Rs 2 lakh each for allegedly, “abusing the referee” in their I-League game against Indian Arrows on March 4, reports appearing in the media said.

“The Committee imposed sanctions of suspension of four matches upon Mr David Robertson, the coach of ‘Real Kashmir FC and his son Mason Robertson (jersey No 3) of ‘Real Kashmir FC’…,” the Committee said in its judgment. The AIFF disciplinary committee comprised Chairman Ushanath Banerjee, Haresh Vora, Madhav Milan Ghosh and Adithya Reddy.

This decision has thrown Real Kashmir in trouble as RK has yet to play 04 matches. Of the last five matches, RKFC has lost the first match. Though RK is in safe mode but they may face trouble in upcoming matches. “It is a difficult situation for us. We have asked AIFF’s for a mercy/review petition. Now, our only option is to wait,” said an official of RK.

He added that “in case the review petition will be denied then management will take further decisions.”
