SRINAGAR: In a historic first for the residential academy, the next destination for Sudeva Delhi Football Club’s (SDFC) team trials tour is to be Srinagar.
Being home to many legendary players like Mehrajuddin Wadoo, Ishfaq Ahmed and Danish Farooq Bhat, Kashmir’s football legacy is strong and has the potential to produce groundbreaking players.
Consequently, the aspiring footballers of Kashmir who dream to make it big, now have the opportunity to be a part of one of India’s top residential football clubs.
Sudeva Delhi FC, Delhi’s first-ever I-League football club, is conducting pan-India trials to scout budding footballers and transform them into prolific professionals. Started in 2014 by two visionary entrepreneurs, Anuj Gupta and Vijay Hakari, Sudeva envisions taking Indian football to a global level, reads the statement.
According to statement the organization has been conducting grassroots programs for potential talents, starting at the age of 9 years and continuing up to the senior level. Sudeva has also spread out its branches in Xativa (Spain), as Sudeva Olimpic Residential which partakes in 3rd Division tournaments.
Another milestone is the presence of Sudeva players in the India National Under-17 Football Team. 4-talented players from the academy encashed the opportunity and got themselves placed out of 20 participants who played, it reads.
“Sudeva’s focus has always been on refining the players and carving their abilities into the best form. Sudeva provides complete scholarships on fees, to help students. The Srinagar trials will be personally overseen by Sudeva President, Anuj Gupta, and one of the legendary players that Kashmir bore, Mr. Mehrajuddin Waddoo. Currently working as the head coach for SDFC, Wadoo is a former Indian National Football Team player. He had also played in some of the best football clubs of India like Mohun Bagan, East Bengal, Salgaocar, Pune City, Chennaiyin, and Mumbai City,” it added.

“We hope to see you for the trials of our Under-13, Under-15, Under 18, and Under-22 teams on the June 18,” reads the statement.
