Government forces on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday arrested father and a brother of an active militant along with several persons during night raids in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

Reports said that forces on Tuesday around 10: 30 pm raided the house of a Hizb-ul-Mujahideen militant Adil Ahmad Mir in Monghama village of Tral and detained his father and brother.

According to local sources, such cases were reported in the area earlier also. Another person identified as Talib Fayaz, 17, a brother of Hizb ul-Mujahideen militant Adfar Fayaz Parrey was also detained by forces during a night raid. According to reports, Talib was scheduled to appear for his exam today.

When contacted SP Awantipora Zahid Malik he refused to give any details and said: “Are you doing the story just because they were the brothers of militants, such things happen on daily basis here,” and he cut the call.

“We have not arrested anybody from the area, they might be arrested by some other agency,” the concerned SHO said.
