SRINAGAR: Government forces on Thursday launched a cordon and search operation in Tujjar Sharief area in north Kashmir’s Sopore town of Baramulla district.

Reports said that a joint team of army’s 22 RR, SOG of Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF cordoned off the Tujjar Sharief village.

They said the CASO was launched in the village following inputs about the presence of militants.

Sources said that large numbers of forces have been deployed in the area and door to door search operation is going on.

They said that two local militants are trapped as families were called to motivate them for surrender.
